How does it affect India?

So, the question that is in our minds is that, how exactly it affects us and what's all this fuss about? Why is government spending so much money in all the commonwealth games event, and estimated Rs.37.50 billion ($805.81 million)?

The answer is, that apart from being just a matter of reputation for the country, it's matter of opportunity and business. Experts say that 2010 will be a year of business for tourism and sports and many other related industries. That will give India return for all it's investments in a very efficient way .

India has been holding many different games events in past:

* 1951 - 1st Asian Games, New Delhi, India
* 1982 - 9th Asian Games, New Delhi, India

That was the time when India was recognized well and appraised for its efforts.

As far as Indian performance in sports is concerned, we are all very much aware that the conditioning that our children have in schools and homes is anti-sports. There are different sayings in India to discourage a child from getting into sports. Whatever one has accomplished in India, be it a Sachin Tendulkar or a Sania Mirza, it was all in a very raw form and without any professional practice, conditioning and guidance. It's a matter of great debate. This even reflects truly that what we know is only about the Flyovers, metros, roads, hotels and business plans than we talk about the sports and the sports personalities. We hardly know about them.

But on the contrary, the performance in the year 2006 in the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne has been splendid. India ranked fourth in the tally.

Lets see how it exactly turns out to be for India in 2010 but this is clear from the media, businesses and politicians that the main focus is on infrastructure. To rebuild everything as if everything is truly international experience. Eventually, we all know what is going to happen, the rise in prices for property, stuffs of general use (there was no mother dairy till the 1982 Asiad happened, they removed all the cows from houses and this concept was floated).

This site is not trying to get into political or the business side of Commonwealth Games 2010 but it's an attempt to make some discovery in the sports side for Indian citizen. You can always discuss your views and send us your comments on comments@commonwealth2010.in.

Love, Sex and Adultery in Ancient Egypt

Women had more freedom than their counter parts in Mesopotamia, for instance, but never as much as Paris Hilton and pals. Egyptians married young, very young indeed, and, in royal families, between themselves. Childbirth was dangerous but encouraged in ancient Egypt - prosperity was a goal for everyone and that included having a big family. The love and sex lives of the Egyptians were as complicated as they are today. Turin's famous Erotic Papyrus assures us that the Egyptians were sexually adventurous, with a penchant for naked belly-dancing, and collections of love poetry from the Amarna era reveal that they were also big romantics. According to Angelina Jolie in recent news “fidelity is not essential in her relationship with Brad Pitt”, but adultery is one of the oldest reasons for divorce, death and depression - the 3 D’s - and in ancient Egypt as in most of the modern world, women often still file for divorce on the grounds of adulte...

Pre-disbursal home loan terms

There are many technical terms you will come across when applying for a home loan. For instance, words like credit appraisal, underwriting, and loan-to-value are common terms used by lenders before disbursal of loans. Here we describe these terms. 1. Credit appraisal: This is the process which determines the credit worthiness of a borrower. It is a part of the verification process wherein officers from the loan provider verify details like your employer, your income, number of dependents, your loan history and review documents such as your your bank statements and salary slips. Every lender has its own appraisal officers for this purpose. In order that you get a clean chit at the end of this process, its best if you have a maintained a clean credit history on any existing loans and borrowings. 2. Underwriting: Like credit appraisal, underwriting too forms a part of the verification process and also involves an assessment of the loan eligibility...
